Simulate the results of logical human thought

Why simulate human thought? (…or is that even a task that computers will find essential to take the place of humans?)



Thinking by humans is subject to all kinds of error. Of the some 256 syllogistic constructs that are possible only 15 are actually valid. From that you can quickly see the potential of humans getting things wrong. The purpose of formal logic on the other hand is

to help invent thinking right. Logic can help humans solve problems and reach conclusions that are valid (with the caveat of "rubbish in, rubbish out"). The first conclusion I was inspired to reach with the help of logic was whether God existed or not.
